![]() TAX YEAR 2008/2009 (Tax Year ends on 5th April 2009) Self-Assessment Tax Returns for the previous tax year 2007/2008, need to be submitted to HMRC by no later than 31st October 2008 for paper returns and 31st January 2009 for online returns. General income tax personal allowance is set at £6,035. Inheritance Tax Annual Exempt Amount, £3,000.00. Taxpayers are able to carry forward previous tax year's exemption if unused, giving maximum Annual Exemption of £6,000.00.
