The Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Act 2022 comes into force on 30 June 2022, except for retirement properties where it is not due to be implemented until 1 April 2023.
A new law has come into force to help resolve remaining commercial rent arrears of approximately £7bn which were accrued during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A report by UK Debt Collection News has reported that Bristol City Council recently resigned attempts to recover a huge amount of unpaid rent arrears debts, meaning a total of more than £1.5m is being written off.
